Update as we approach the start of the 2021 season
To all Players, Officials, Junior Coaches and Parents
It looks as though patience will be key again as we gear up for what we hope will be a more active season in 2021. Government announcements are due over the next few weeks and they will be quickly followed by updated guidelines from Cricket Scotland as to what that means for our sport. The next month ahead of traditional season opening in mid-April will be a moving target so please monitor our social media pages for updates. Bear in mind headlines are often very promising but they still come with 10 pages of restrictions and guidelines, all of which must be met!
The very latest position is that government and CS guidelines issued 12/3 now permit outdoor training activity for groups of 15 max. at 12 and over and 30 max for U-12s, subject to adherence to guidelines. It is likely very few clubs will actually start organised activity so quickly. Most will be studying the guidance and putting plans in place to ensure members and facilities are fully compliant for usual April start and then to implement the inevitable changes that will arise during the summer. As tenants of Doo'cot Park, PDCC are developing policies and procedures to give Gannochy Trust confidence we will meet all guidelines whereby they will agree to open the ground. Until we have agreement, Doo'cot Park remains closed to the public, although groundsman Greg Denton is hard at work preparing the facility for us.
It is unclear yet whether there will be a normal league season for Seniors and Juniors given the current restrictions that are in place. We are actively involved in the discussions that are happening and, although there is real cause for optimism that we will get much more match activity at all age levels and more competitive matches, it will be several weeks before we know what that will look like. It will depend on overall restrictions easing especially around travel. Again, as decisions are made, we'll update our social media pages.
In summary, we are desperate to get back to some semblance of normality and to welcome everyone back to Doo'cot Park for a busier 2021 season. There is a great deal of hard work going on to make that happen.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.

CLUB NEWS
WELCOME TO PDCC

Welcome to the website of Perth Doo'cot Cricket Club. We play our cricket at the beautiful Doo'cot Park, which is owned by the Gannochy Trust, and we aspire to be the most welcoming and friendliest club in the area.

We run three weekend teams, a newly formed women's section, and a thriving juniors section, with coaching for girls available from the 2021 season. Our first XI competes in the Cricket Scotland North East Championship, while the second XI takes part in the First Division of the Strathmore & Perthshire Union (SPCU). Our Sunday XI plays in the SPCU's Recreational and Development League. We also run a midweek team, which plays 20-over friendlies on Wednesday evenings.

Whether you're a cricketing novice or an experienced player, new members are always welcome. We run junior coaching on Monday evenings (6.30pm to 8pm or later) and senior nets at the same time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Come and join us!

The club is a member of PACES, Perth & Kinross Council's club accreditation scheme, which recognises PDCC as a safe and well-structured club with the appropriate policies in place.
