Update as we approach the start of the 2022 season

To all Players, Officials, Junior Coaches and Parents
Whisper it quietly, but a full cricket season as we know it is looking more and more likely in 2022. As we come to the close of a very full programme of winter indoor nets, we are looking to launch the outdoor season with nets on Tue 12 April. We look forward to seeing as many players as possible at those. We'll then have two weekends of friendly matches before league cricket starts on Sat 30 April. A full fixture list is already in place for both the 1st and 2nd XIs and the Sunday R&D fixtures will follow shortly, as will the draw for the 50-over Scottish Cup. The club has entered the midweek National T20 Cup and those fixtures are also on the website. In preparation for the season, we are delighted to have secured the services of Usman Saeed as club coach. He is well known to many of us and will be in charge of all coaching across the club. We are hopeful too of bringing a young overseas amateur to the club, so watch this space.
Our junior coaching sessions and our women's and girls' section will begin their seasons on Monday 25th April and the club is again running the ECB All Stars programme for 5-8 year-olds, starting on 9 May. Our juniors have enjoyed a very successful period and we are seeing many of them now in our senior XI's, so this is a trend we plan to continue. The women and girls have wintered well indoors, with numbers healthy, and they will look to build on the successes of 2021. Once fixtures and festivals are in place for juniors and women and girls, we will list those on the website and social media.
A normal season brings with it a return to normal expenditure that must be matched by income and so we would ask all members to do what they can to help by both prompt payment of membership subs once the season starts but also by assisting with social events and sponsorship ideas. Things like individual match ball sponsorships or kit sponsorship can all make a difference and so we'd ask anyone interested in sponsorship to let us know by emailing perthdoocot@gmail.com and we'll take it from there.
Although it appears restrictions are being removed, it's still important that we all look after the facilities we enjoy. The Gannochy Trust will reopen Doo'cot Park - pavilion included - on a shared-responsibility basis and that effectively means all users behaving sensibly and making sure the facilities are as safe as possible for us, our visitors and the Trust's staff. For PDCC that also means we follow all Cricket Scotland guidelines, and no doubt these will be updated by Cricket Scotland before the season starts.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.

CLUB NEWS
WELCOME TO PDCC

Welcome to the website of Perth Doo'cot Cricket Club. We play our cricket at the beautiful Doo'cot Park, which is owned by the Gannochy Trust, and we aspire to be the most welcoming and friendliest club in the area.

We run three weekend teams, a newly formed women's section, and a thriving juniors section, with coaching for girls available from the 2021 season. Our first XI competes in the Cricket Scotland North East Championship, while the second XI takes part in the First Division of the Strathmore & Perthshire Union (SPCU). Our Sunday XI plays in the SPCU's Recreational and Development League. We also run a midweek team, which plays 20-over friendlies on Wednesday evenings.

Whether you're a cricketing novice or an experienced player, new members are always welcome. We run junior coaching on Monday evenings (6.30pm to 8pm or later) and senior nets at the same time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Come and join us!

The club is a member of PACES, Perth & Kinross Council's club accreditation scheme, which recognises PDCC as a safe and well-structured club with the appropriate policies in place.
