Update as we approach the start of the 2023 season

To all players, officials, coaches and parents,
There have been changes aplenty since the end of the 2022 season, with Graham and Chris respectively stepping down as club secretary and president. We’d like to thank them for their unstinting service over the last ten years and hope they enjoy their “retirements”.
On the pitch, our 1st and 2nd teams are facing challenging but exciting seasons, with both the NEC and Division 1 having been restructured and a pink ball introduced in both leagues. The 1s will be playing their cricket in coloured kit this season, while the 2s will remain in white for the time being. There are new men at the helm of both sides, with Kash returning to 1st team captaincy duties and Ivor taking over as 2nd team skip. The 1s also have a trip to Grange in the first round of the Scottish Cup in early May and there’s a Three Counties Cup title to defend as well.
Sadly, we’ll be unable to field Usman Saeed this season due to a change in Home Office regulations. Usman has been a rock for the club and will be missed on the pitch. In response, the club was delighted to secure the services of Scotland international Safyaan Sharif, whose ability with both bat and ball will be invaluable. 2023 also sees the welcome return of the overseas amateur, with wicketkeeper/batsman Joel Rush joining us from Down Under.
It also promises to be an exciting season for our ever-expanding women’s section, who are set to make their hardball debut as part of a joint team with Meigle. And there will be the usual Sunday and midweek recreational matches and a host of fixtures for our talented U-12, U-14 and U-16 sides to enjoy.
The club has also invested in a FrogBox streaming kit, which means you’ll be able to follow the action on our YouTube channel.
It’s vital that we back up such investments with support off the pitch, which is why we ask all members to do what they can to help by paying membership subs promptly once the season starts, attending the social events we will be organising this year, and helping out with sponsorship ideas. Things like individual match ball sponsorships or kit sponsorship can all make a big difference. We’d ask anyone interested in sponsorship to let us know by emailing perthdoocot@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.

CLUB NEWS
WELCOME TO PDCC

Welcome to the website of Perth Doo'cot Cricket Club. We play our cricket at the beautiful Doo'cot Park, which is owned by the Gannochy Trust, and we aspire to be the most welcoming and friendliest club in the area.

We run three weekend teams, a newly formed women's section, and a thriving juniors section, with coaching for girls available from the 2021 season. Our first XI competes in the Cricket Scotland North East Championship, while the second XI takes part in the First Division of the Strathmore & Perthshire Union (SPCU). Our Sunday XI plays in the SPCU's Recreational and Development League. We also run a midweek team, which plays 20-over friendlies on Wednesday evenings.

Whether you're a cricketing novice or an experienced player, new members are always welcome. We run junior coaching on Monday evenings (6.30pm to 8pm or later) and senior nets at the same time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Come and join us!

The club is a member of PACES, Perth & Kinross Council's club accreditation scheme, which recognises PDCC as a safe and well-structured club with the appropriate policies in place.
